Diamond Power Infra Boosts Capacity with New MV/EHV Power Cable Line.

Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited (DPIL) has announced the commissioning of its 8th Medium Voltage (MV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) power cable production line at its manufacturing facility in Vadodara, Gujarat.

The new production line strengthens the company’s capabilities in the technologically advanced MV and EHV underground power cable segment, which is used across power transmission networks, generation projects, renewable energy evacuation systems, urban underground distribution networks, metro rail systems, airports, data centres and industrial infrastructure.

The company said two additional MV/EHV production lines are currently under installation and commissioning and are expected to become operational on or before March 31, 2027. Once completed, the Vadodara facility will have a total of 10 MV/EHV production lines.

Diamond Power Infrastructure noted that demand for MV and EHV underground cables in India continues to be supported by investments in power transmission and distribution infrastructure, renewable energy integration, and expansion of urban and critical infrastructure projects. The segment remains technology-intensive, with high entry barriers due to stringent quality requirements and advanced manufacturing needs.

Commenting on the development, Nivedita Pandya, Vice President – Projects at the company, said the commissioning of the new line marks an important milestone in its expansion programme.

“The commissioning of our 8th MV/EHV line marks an important milestone in Diamond Power’s expansion programme. The additional capacity strengthens our ability to serve the growing requirements of utilities, power generation projects, renewable energy evacuation systems and urban underground power transmission networks,” Pandya said.

She added that with further capacity additions underway, the company continues to strengthen its position in the MV and EHV cable manufacturing segment.

The development is part of DPIL’s broader strategy to scale up capacity in line with rising demand for advanced power transmission infrastructure in India.
