"DCB and Ekam Eco Solutions Partner to Establish Composting Facility at Goa University"
Ekam Eco Solutions Pvt Ltd, a research spin-off of IIT Delhi specializing in sanitation, in collaboration with DCB Bank, inaugurated a composting facility at Goa University on Tuesday. Situated within the university premises, the facility is capable of processing up to 657 kgs of wet waste daily.
Sponsored by DCB Bank as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) endeavors, the facility's design and development were spearheaded by Ekam Eco Solutions Pvt Ltd. The commissioning and management of the facility have been entrusted to Alterenergyz.
In a media statement, Harilal B Menon, Vice-Chancellor of Goa University, hailed the composting site as a significant stride towards a more sustainable future. He emphasized the importance of transforming waste into valuable resources through responsible practices.
Murali M Natrajan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of DCB Bank, underscored the bank's commitment to innovative waste management and water conservation techniques in collaboration with Ekam Eco Solutions. Natrajan emphasized the importance of addressing environmental challenges and fostering a culture of responsible practices. He highlighted the bank's CSR initiatives focused on tackling issues such as the water crisis, climate change, and sustainable livelihoods, with a particular emphasis on nature-based solutions.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by VS Nadkarni, Registrar of Goa University, Sachin Joshi, Co-Founder of Ekam Eco Solutions Pvt Ltd, and Samruddha Hegade, Managing Partner of Alterenergyz.
