Data Centre Park to come up at Rangwasa village.

The first ever Data Centre Park is to be built at village Rangwasa of Depalpur tehsil and is likely to be operational by the end of next year. The district administration has handed over 27 hectare of land to the Information Technology Department.

Data Centre Park, an ambitious project for safeguarding the data of domestic companies, finally gets a location and land to come up on. On the request of the Information Technology Department of the state government, the district administration has allotted 27.50 hectare land of survey no 62/1/1 to the department on November 20 and also handed over the procession of the land to the general manager of the IT department on the same date.

The location of the proposed data centre is on Dhar road, close to Betma under Depalpur tehsil. After getting the land and its possession the work of the proposed centre is expected to start in the next few months.

Presently the domestic company’s park their important data and information in the data centres’ located outside India. As there is no data centre infrastructure in the form of data centre cluster or park in the country that could support hosting of several data centres.

Currently, out of 20 data centres active in India, only five are for public use. The rest of them are company specific ones not meant for outsiders.

To cater to internet and download traffic, there was need for data centres and cloud storage. However, assessing the need and security aspects, the central government had decided to set up the data centre in different cities of the country through the Information Technology Department of the state government.
