Dalmia Bharat Eyes 130 MTPA Cement Capacity, Pursuing Organic Growth and Acquisitions.
Dalmia Bharat Ltd is setting ambitious targets for its production capacity, aiming to significantly expand from 49.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) in fiscal year 2025 to 75 mtpa by FY28. The company's long-term vision extends even further, with a goal of reaching a staggering 110-130 mtpa by FY31. Phase-II expansion plans are currently in motion to facilitate this growth.
The cement major intends to achieve this capacity increase through a "mix of organic and inorganic capacity addition, with more focus on planned and systematic organic growth." This strategy suggests a disciplined approach to expansion, prioritizing controlled internal development while remaining open to strategic acquisitions.
In the company's Annual Report for FY25, Puneet Dalmia, Managing Director, Dalmia Bharat, emphasized that the Phase II expansion strategy will solidify the company's standing as a pan-India pure-play cement player. He stated that this will place Dalmia Bharat "favorably on track to achieve our long-term target of 110-130 mtpa." The planned expansion highlights the company's confidence in the future demand for cement and its commitment to strengthening its market position across India.
