Colaba Metro-3 gets approval from Airport regulator.

The Colaba-Bandra-Seepz Metro-3 project has received approval from Airport Economic Regulatory Authority for the construction of two stations on the Metro-3 corridor.

The corridor connects business district in South Mumbai with the airport.

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), which is implementing the project, had proposed two underground stations in the close vicinity of Mumbai airport area.

The MMRC had signed a MoU with Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) in September 2015 where it was agreed to fund the construction cost of the two metro stations at the cost of Rs. 777 crore, provided it gets clearance from AERA.
