Coca-Cola Bottlers to Invest ₹25,760 Crore in India’s Food Processing Sector.
Three Coca-Cola bottlers in India are set to invest ₹25,760 crore ($2.96 billion) to boost the country’s food processing infrastructure, according to an industry official. The companies—SLMG Beverages, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (Coca-Cola’s wholly-owned bottling arm), and Kandhari Group of Companies—have signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries to undertake both greenfield and brownfield projects.
The investment will cover nine states: Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu, aiming to strengthen and expand food processing capabilities across these regions.
Paritosh Ladhani, joint managing director of SLMG Beverages, confirmed the development, stating, “Coca-Cola India and all the other bottlers, including SLMG Beverages, have signed an MoU worth ₹25,760 crore with the food processing industry.” The move reflects a significant commitment to enhancing India’s food processing sector, supporting economic growth and infrastructure development.
