Centre approves Rs 320-mn to upgrade Maharashtra highways

New Delhi: The Centre approved Rs 32 crore plans to upgrade the dilapidated stretches of the national highways running through the state of Maharashtra.

Union Minister of Shipping, Road transport and Highways, T R Baalu has approved the plans for the road improvement works in the following stretches:

Rs. 454.67 lakh has been approved for improvement of Pune-Nasik Road of NH-50. Pune-Nasik Road that passes through industrial and vegetable goods producing area. The road provides an important link to Shirdi, the pilgrimage centre.

Rs. 511.77 lakh has been approved for NH-222 of Kalyan-Ahmednagar-Beed-Majalgaon-Parbhani-Nanded-Bhokar road.

Rs. 991.40 lakh has been approved for Nagpur - Edlabad Section of NH-6.

Rs. 498.89 lakh has been approved for Improvement Nagpur-Obedullaganj road of NH-69. This road is the important link joining Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra and goes up to Bhopal.
