The Union government has given its nod to the ₹400-crore four-lane road from Beypore to Malapparamba. “The project is one of the 57 projects under the Bharatmala scheme and is expected to be a boost for the development of North Kerala,” M.K. Raghavan, MP, said in a press release.

The 18.4-kilometre road will also have a 2.9 kilometre-long flyover. It will pass through Beypore Port, Gotheeshwaram Beach, Marad, Payyanakkal and Kothi South Beach, constituting 13.4 kilometres. The flyover will be from Kozhikode Beach to Eranhipalam.

The road will be an active link between Beypore Port and the National Highway. A detailed project report would be made in six months, the MP.
