Budget 2014: Rs. 500 crore allocated for 4 new AIIMS units.

Aiming to create AIIMS in every state, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in his maiden budget speech said, 'We will allocate Rs. 500 crore for 4 new AIIMS units.'

'We will set up 4 AIIMS in AP, WB, Vidharbha, Purvanchal,' Jaitley said. 'We will set up new institutions within Delhi-AIIMS; Chennai-AIIMS,' he added.

Jaitley also proposed setting up 5 more IITs and IIMs.
