BSCIC to establish industrial park in Ctg

Dhaka: The Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industry Corporation is going to set up an industrial park in the closed Chittagong Chemical Complex with special arrangements to distribute plots among the country’s women entrepreneurs.

This was disclosed Tuesday at a review meeting on the progress of industries ministry’s projects being implemented under the annual development programme during the current fiscal (2007-08) year. The industries adviser, Geeteara Safiya Chowdhury, presided at the meeting.

The government has allocated Tk 156.80 crore for 14 projects of different corporations and organisations under the industries ministry during the current fiscal.

Industries secretary M Nurul Amin, high officials and heads of different corporations and organisations and concerned project directors were present.
