Bosch to double its CRI production in Nashik plant

Nashik: Considering tremondous response to its newly launched Common Rail Injector(CRI) production at Nashik plant, Bosch, world's largest auto-component company has decided to double its production by 2009.

The plant will increase 1.3 million injectors by 2009 from the current level of 500,000 in 2008.

'Bosch will invest Rs 2,650 crore in India during 2005-2010 and its Indian arm company will invest Rs 1,000 crore during 2005-2010 to introduce new technology at its Nashik plant, S M Hegde, vice-president (commercial) Bosch Limited said here.

We plan to increase employment opportunities in our Nashik plant. At present our staff strenth is nearly 3200, he said.

All the leading automabile industries are our subscribers in taking our CRI in their latest models of cars, resulting in utilising less diesel, he said.

Bosch has been instrumental in implementing pro-emvironment measures and will continue its contribution towards the betterment of society, Hegde said.

With extensive energy savings by means of reduction in LPG gas and electricity consumption, the total costs saved per year by us in Nashik facility is Rs 7.6 lakh, he said.

Our new technologies after common rail system, power-tools, gasoline engine management system, electronic stability programme, anti-lock breaking system, traction control system are also going by us, he said.
