BOI signs for 8 new projects
Colombo: The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka signed agreements for 8 new projects. Dhammika Perera, Chairman / Director General, signed the agreements on behalf of the BOI and formally presented the investors with the BOI Certificates of Registration.
Intelligence Augmentation & Management (Private) Limited
The agreement signed with Intelligence Augmentation & Management is for a project to set up a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company to develop business models for overseas clients.
The project is an investment of US $ 155,200 and will create 15 employment opportunities. The venture will be located at Dehiwela and has already commenced construction.
C. A. A. Singarayar (Director) and D. A. J. Jayaweera (Director) signed the agreement on behalf of the company.
Transact Lanka (Private) Limited
The agreement with Transact Lanka is for a project to provide IT enabled Real-time Payment Services to customers of financial institutions.
S. C. Wijesinghe (Director) and Mr. T. B. Dissanayake (Director) signed the agreementon behalf of Transact Lanka .
This project is an investment of US $ 1.2 million and is expected to provide employment opportunities for a workforce of 120. The venture is sponsored by B C Computers Limited and will be situated in Colombo.
Radiant Confectioners (Private) Limited
Radiant Confectioners is a venture to manufacture bubble gum for the export market.
A. Sivanandan (Director) and Mr. M. J. R. C. Fernando (Director) signed the agreement for the project with an initial investment of Rs. 35 million.
The venture is expected to provide employment opportunities for 40. The project is located at Sapugaskande and has commenced construction while commercial operations will commence in June.
Darul Uloom International Academy (Private) Limited
The agreement signed with Darul Uloom International Academy is for a project to set up an institute to teach foreign languages and provide vocational training.
This project is an investment of US $ 895,000. The institute located in a 10 acre land at Pugoda is expected to create employment opportunities for a workforce of 125. The venture is expected to commence operations in 3 months.
A. H. M Mahir Mohideen (Director) and Mr. Nazvi Hassan (Director) signed the agreement on behalf of the company.
Interocean Energy (Private) Limited
The agreement signed with Interocean Energy, is for a project to provide bunkering services onshore and offshore.
Rohan De Silva (Director) and Mohan Wijesinghe (Director) signed the agreement on behalf of Interocean Energy. This project is an investment of US $ 1.52 million sponsored Interocean Energy Limited and is expected to provide employment for 20.
Matale Plantations (Private) Limited
Matale Plantations is a project to cultivate teak, mahogany and other timber species.
This project is an investment of US $ 35 million and is expected to provide employment opportunities for a work force of 50. The plantation will be located in Kikawala, Matale.
T. G. Hockley (Director) and Mr. S. V. Rajiyah (Director) signed the agreement on behalf of the company.
Impressions Labels Lanka (Private) Limited
The agreement signed with Impressions Labels Lanka is for a project to manufacture garment accessories for the export market. They will manufacture accessories such as woven labels, printer fabric labels, heat transfers, hang bags, price tickets, tea tags and tea bag covers.
R. W. Karunaratne (Director) signed the agreement on behalf of the company for the US $ 1.8 million venture
The project is located at Mulukele Watta, Habarakanda and will generate employment opportunities for a workforce of 120. Commercial production is expected to commence in 4 months time.
