BOI signs agreements for 3 new projects

Colombo: The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka signed agreements for three new projects. Board Members Channa Palansuriya and Upali Samaraweera signed the agreements on behalf of the BOI. Channa Palansuriya formally presented the investors with the BOI Certificate of Registrations.

The agreement signed with Viciciv Technology is for a project to provide research, development and engineering services for overseas clients to design and develop integrated circuit components and software tools. The venture builds Programmable Logic Devices for various industries.

Viciciv provides an innovative technology to combine prototype and production needs into a low cost, high performance single chip design solution.

This project is an initial investment of US $ 1.25 million and will create direct employment opportunities for 25. The venture sponsored by Viciciv Technology Inc, USA has already commenced operations. The venture based in Sri Lanka will design and develop integrated circuits and software.

Founder, President and CEO Raminda Madurawe signed the agreement on behalf of the company.

The agreement signed with Hurtz International, is for a project to manufacture mobile telecommunication towers for export.

This project sponsored by Tantri Trailers is an investment of US $ 600,000 and has successfully completed prototype production. The venture located at Kelaniya is expected to provide employment opportunities for 60.

Managing Director Athula Haputhanthri and Director Dany Georges Younes signed the Agreement on behalf of the company.

Siddhalepa Ayurveda Food and Beverages, is a project to process Ayurvedic food and beverages. The venture expects to start operations in May and will be located at Borupana. This project is an investment of US $ 150,000 and is expected to provide employment opportunities for 100.

Chairman Dr. Victor Hettigoda and Director Aunshka Vidanapathirana signed the agreement on behalf of the company.
