BEL to showcase its equiptments and systems at DEFEXPO

Bangalore: Bharat Electronics Ltd is showcasing its range of equipment and systems along with contract manufacturing capabilities at DEFEXPO – the bi-annual defence exports exposition —starting on February 16 in Delhi, according to a company release.

The products are targeted at the numerous Indian and foreign defence and industry delegations that are slated to visit the company stall for discussions during the four-day expo.

The defence navaratna said it has capabilities in contract manufacturing and offsets in electronic assemblies, precision mechanical components, assemblies, shelters, GPS modules and electronic assembly facilities, mechanical assembly facilities, brazing facility and software.

Products range

The BEL range includes defence communication systems, radars and sonars, naval systems, telecom and broadcast systems, electronic warfare systems, tank electronics, opto electronic products and solar powered systems.

Many types of radars figure among its star products. Some of them are the short-range portable battlefield surveillance radar, developed by defence lab LRDE and being manufactured by BEL for the Army since March 2005.

It also has on offer the 3D Central Acquisition Radar; a VHF hand-held Radio LVP 333; a high accuracy direction finder to intercept and identify missile guidance radars; Downmast Navigational Radar to aid ships.

A fully automated Integrated Air Command & Control System has been developed for the Indian Air Force.

Night vision thermal imaging system; the digital armoured vehicle inter-communication system; mortar simulator are meant for export markets.

Civil products

BEL’s general or civil products include the set-top box, modem, the Simputer, the electronic voting machine, travelling wave tubes, Ku-band receivers, microwave components, solar battery charger, X-ray baggage inspection system, explosive detector, video surveillance, access control system, biometric system, door frame detector and composite data recorder.

It has also provided turnkey solutions such as the countrywide police network POLNET; the satellite education infrastructure for EDUSAT; MTNL’s convergent billing project and the Andhra Pradesh statewide network APNET, the company said.
