Avissawella Hospital nears completion

Colombo: Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Choi Ki Chul, paid a courtesy call on Gitanjana Gunawardena, Minister of Housing in Parliament recently.

They discussed the Avissawella Preliminary Care Unit project where the building work is nearing completion. The specialised medical equipment donated by Korean Foundation for International Healthcare (K-FIH) will be in Sri Lanka during the course of this week.

This project was initiated when the Minister Gunawardena was the Deputy Speaker. The Minister mentioned about the Sister Hospital Concept to the Ambassador who mentioned that this could be done through KOICA as they can change services from one particular area to another.

He also mentioned that Korea supports the Sri Lankan Government especially in eradication of poverty.

The Minister mentioned that both countries Sri Lanka and Korea has gone through 60 years of independence and a unified Korea is an achievable vision.
