"Adani Power, Adani Green to Invest ₹63,000 Cr in Assam for Thermal and Pumped Storage Projects"

Two portfolio companies of the Adani Group — Adani Power and Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) — have secured Letters of Award (LoA) from the Assam Government to develop a state-of-the-art thermal power plant and two Pumped Storage Plants (PSPs), representing a combined investment of approximately ₹63,000 crore in the state.

Adani Power plans to invest around ₹48,000 crore to establish a 3,200 MW greenfield ultra super-critical thermal power plant in Assam. Meanwhile, Adani Green Energy will invest ₹15,000 crore to set up two PSPs with a combined capacity of 2,700 MW. AGEL has also received an LoA for 500 MW of energy storage capacity, which will be sourced from these PSPs.

The projects are expected to bolster the region’s energy infrastructure, support industrial growth, and generate employment opportunities, marking a significant milestone in Assam’s ongoing development trajectory.
