In a significant development, Adani Energy Solutions Limited (AESL) unveiled the Warora-Kurnool Transmission Line, an expansive project spanning 1,756 circuit kilometers that traverse the states of Maharashtra, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. This monumental endeavor is poised to play a pivotal role in reinforcing the national grid by facilitating power transmission of 4,500 MW between the Western and Southern regions of India.
The newly inaugurated transmission line is expected to bring about substantial improvements to the Southern region's power grid while also supporting the integration of renewable energy sources on a large scale. Established in 2015, Warora Kurnool Transmission Limited (WKTL) initiated this project with the goal of creating an additional inter-regional alternate current link to bolster power imports into the Southern region. One of the project's key components was the installation of a state-of-the-art 765/400 kV sub-station in Warangal, underscoring AESL's commitment to expanding its presence across diverse regions of India.
The construction and engineering aspects of this project were nothing short of remarkable. AESL leveraged cutting-edge technologies, including the use of drones for stringing in remote areas with limited accessibility.
