ACC to pump Rs. 3000 crore by 2015 to ramp up capacity in East.

Cement maker ACC, a part of Holcim Group, recently said it is investing Rs. 3,000 crore in revamping its existing plant in the eastern region and adding capacity by mid-2015.

'ACC is expanding its capacity in the eastern region. We are investing some Rs. 3000 crore in modernising the Jamul plant in Chattisgarh and adding 1.5 million tonne grinding unit in Jharkhand,' ACC director (sales) C Kurian said.

'We will decommission the existing plant of Jamul and install the world's best technology based four million tonne cement plant. Another 1.5 million tonne grinding unit had also been finalised at Sindri, Jharkhand,' he said.

Both the plants would be commissioned by the second quarter of 2015, Kurian added.

ACC has six plants in eastern region with six million tonne capacity and by 2016 the capacity would be hiked to 10 million tonne.
