ABB gets Rs 3,120-mn Order

Bangalore: ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has won a Rs 312-crore order for design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of electrical products and systems for a new terminal T3 at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.

ABB’s solutions are part of a modernisation project to prepare the airport for the Commonwealth Games in 2010. ABB will provide electrical infrastructure and control systems for Terminal 3, which is currently under construction.

ABB’s intelligent power distribution management system, SCADA, will be used to monitor and control the terminal’s entire electrical network. Delhi airport’s terminal T3 will cover an area of 5, 20,000 sq m with capacity to handle 25 million passengers and is scheduled to be operational by March 2010.
