₹86 lakh for repair of ghat road.

The State government has allocated ₹86 lakh for the repair of the Thamarassery Ghat Road. According to a press release from G. Sudhakaran, Minister for Public Works, the second, fourth and ninth hairpin bends will not be included in the work.

The release said that interlock tiles would have to be laid after widening the road if the traffic block on the third, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth hairpin bends had to be addressed. For this, 0.92 hectares of forest land would have to be acquired. The work would start as soon as the Forest Department gives consent.

An amount of ₹19.75 lakh had been allocated to widen the road along the third and fifth hairpin bends, the release added.
