6 More IT Parks in Odisha State Soon.

The Odisha Government has decided to set up software technology parks at six places in the State.

The parks will be set up at Jajpur, Sambalpur, Jeypore, Angul, Rayagada and Bhawanipatna. In the first phase, parks will be established at Jajpur, Angul and Sambalpur for which the State Government has submitted feasibility study report to the Centre.

'The feasibility study report for setting up information technology parks in Jajpur, Angul and Sambalpur has been sent for approval,' stated a letter by the Information Technology department to Dr. Omkar Rai, Director General of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI).

The Centre has already given in principle approval for setting up six STPI centres in Odisha after the State Government raised the demand. The State has four STPI centres at Bhubaneswar, Brahmapur, Rourkela and Balasore now.

Except for the Balasore unit, all three centres are now operational. The STPI centres are being set up in various parts of the country to encourage, promote and boost software exports from the State.
