TKIL Industries and Hoppecke Partner to Develop Battery Systems for Indian Railways.
TKIL Industries, formerly recognized as Thyssenkrupp Industries India, has announced a significant strategic partnership with German battery manufacturing specialist, Hoppecke Batterie Systeme. This collaboration aims to develop and deliver advanced battery systems specifically designed for the diverse needs of the Indian railway sector.
The alliance is poised to revolutionize energy storage solutions for India's metro systems, regional trains, and locomotives, contributing significantly to the modernization and electrification of the country's vast railway network.
The first joint project is scheduled for rollout in 2025, leveraging TKIL’s extensive engineering and manufacturing capabilities alongside Hoppecke’s specialized expertise in industrial energy storage. This synergy is expected to yield cutting-edge battery technology crucial for sustainable rail transport.
Company executives emphasized the long-term vision for the partnership, which includes the development of a robust localized service infrastructure and sustained market engagement within India.
