NHPC Awards ₹239.98 Crore Hydropower Project to Patel Engineering.

Patel Engineering Limited (PEL) has secured a significant contract valued at ₹239.98 crore (inclusive of taxes) from NHPC Ltd. The project involves crucial civil and hydro-mechanical works for the Teesta-V Power Station in Sikkim, specifically focusing on the modification of the diversion tunnel into a tunnel spillway arrangement under Package 6.

Located in the South District of Sikkim, the project has a completion timeline of 18 months. The comprehensive scope of work includes the construction of the tunnel spillway, a gate operation chamber and shaft, a precast bridge, an access road, energy dissipation structures, a dyke, an environmental flow tunnel, and other associated infrastructure.

Ms. Kavita Shirvaikar, Managing Director of Patel Engineering Limited, commented on the award, stating, "We are honored to receive the LOA from NHPC for this strategically important hydropower project. Our deep experience in the North Eastern region positions us strongly to execute this project with precision and efficiency. This win is another step toward our vision of contributing meaningfully to India's clean energy future."

Patel Engineering's existing presence in the region, including their ongoing work on NHPC's Teesta-VI HEP (Lot-2) near Singtam town (approximately 30 km from this new project site), further solidifies their expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure in the challenging Himalayan terrain.
