GAIL Ltd.'s shares experienced a modest uptick of 0.11 per cent following the company's inauguration of a Community Kitchen-Cum-Dining Hall project in West Bengal. Part of GAIL's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the project is designed to enhance the socio-economic status of the local community by offering nutritious meals and engaging in various community programs.
The project encompasses the establishment of a kitchen and dining hall, complete with sanitation facilities, kitchen appliances, storage units, and dining infrastructure. Its overarching goal is to combat food insecurity and malnutrition while promoting access to healthy meals and implementing health and hygiene initiatives.
Ayush Gupta, Director (Human Resources) at GAIL, emphasized the company's commitment to community investment and overall societal development. He remarked, "The company believes in investing in communities and is dedicated to the holistic growth and progress of all segments of society. The launch of a community kitchen-cum-dining hall in Thakurnagar signifies a significant stride in addressing the needs of the underprivileged Matua community. Through collaborative efforts and strategic interventions, the project aims to foster a positive impact on the health and socio-economic well-being of community members, all while promoting principles of inclusivity, empowerment, and sustainability."
GAIL also disclosed its involvement in various projects across West Bengal, including Natural Gas Pipelines, City Gas Distribution, and a Coal Gasification-Based Fertilizer Plant. With investments in pipeline projects and plans for further expansion in the City Gas Distribution network, GAIL continues to actively contribute to the state's infrastructural development and economic growth.
