BEL Secures Contracts Valued at ₹4,878 Crore

In a significant development, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence PSU, has clinched a substantial order valued at ₹4,522 crore from the Indian Army. The contract pertains to the supply of fuses for various calibres, contributing to the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative. The collaborative effort involves the participation of Indian Electronics and associated Industries, with MSMEs serving as sub-vendors for BEL.

The official contract signing ceremony took place on December 15, 2023, with Maj Gen Gurpreet Singh Choudhry and Bhanu Prakash Srivastava, CMD of BEL, signing the agreement. Vice Admiral Atul Anand, Additional Secretary (DMA), was also present during the ceremony. The tender's primary focus was on the indigenization of critical technologies.

In addition to the significant Army contract, BEL has secured extra orders amounting to ₹356 crores since the last disclosure on December 06, 2023. These additional orders encompass various products, including EW (Electronic Warfare) Testers, Medical Systems (Exports), Consumables and Batteries for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), as well as Night Vision Devices Spares and Services.

The cumulative value of orders received by BEL in the current financial year 2023-24 has now reached an impressive ₹23,176 crores (excluding taxes). The company's success in securing multiple contracts underscores its pivotal role in advancing indigenous defense capabilities and fostering growth in associated industries.
