Vikram Solar commissions 10 MW solar plant in Tirupati.

Vikram Solar has commissioned a 10 MW capacity solar plant for Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams in Andhra Pradesh.

A leading EPC solutions provider and PV module manufacturer, Vikram Solar developed the project under a power purchase agreement with TTD. It is expected to facilitate green power generation and cater to the energy needs of the famous shrine.

Gyanesh Chaudhary, MD & CEO, Vikram Solar, in a statement said: “This project is yet another reiteration of our experience and superior quality standards in the execution of EPC projects. With this, our total commissioned EPC project capacity has reached 305 MW in India.”

The solar plant is installed in TTD’s land located in Chittoor district. The plant covers about 67 acres of area and has a power generation capacity of 10 MW.

Vikram Solar has used poly-crystalline non-DCR high efficiency modules to ensure maximum yield and performance consistency. The power generated is being evacuated at 33 kv ratio and is being fed to Mudivedu sub-station.

The plant is also expected to save about 15,143.5 tonnes of CO2 annually.

Besides bringing green energy and saving approximately Rs. 4.5 crore in utility bills for TTD, Vikram Solar has helped in creating employment in the region.

Local graduates have been trained and hired while developing the project and will continue to work in the O&M segment of the plant after project completion. Special training sessions were organised to train the local unskilled resource and the results have been satisfactory.
