Uttar Pradesh Sanctions ₹6,124 Crore for New Ring Roads, Bypasses, and Flyovers.
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a significant investment of ₹6,124 crore for the construction of new ring roads, bypasses, and flyovers across the state. The Public Works Department (PWD) has prepared a detailed blueprint outlining 62 projects aimed at expanding road connectivity for the fiscal year 2025-26.
According to the PWD's statement released on Sunday, priority will be given to high-density regions and areas experiencing heavy vehicular traffic. The initiative is designed not only to enhance connectivity but also to significantly improve overall traffic management throughout the state.
The government's plan also aligns with the development of various industrial parks across Uttar Pradesh, with considerations for efficient freight movement and robust road connectivity being central to the planning.
The PWD confirmed that in the current financial year, it will undertake the construction of 62 bypasses and ring roads. These projects will prioritize areas with a population exceeding one lakh.
However, municipalities and councils that are already connected to national highways will not be included in this particular plan. In such areas, the construction of bypasses and ring roads will be handled by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the statement clarified.
