Sona Comstar Partners with The ePlane Co. to Develop Powertrain for eVTOLs & Drones.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd (Sona Comstar), a global leader in mobility technology solutions, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ubifly Technologies Private Limited (The ePlane Co.), an IIT Madras-incubated start-up. This strategic collaboration will focus on the development of powertrains for eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft) and drones.

Under the MoU, both companies will work together to develop key components such as gearboxes, motors, inverters, and other related systems essential for eVTOL and drone technologies.

The partnership aims to strengthen cooperation between the two companies and contribute to India’s growing aerospace and mobility sectors, with a focus on delivering Made in India products for future eVTOL and drone programs. This collaboration is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing next-generation mobility solutions and positioning India as a significant player in the global aerospace industry.
