"Prime Minister Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stone for BPCL Projects Worth Rs. 9,800 Crore"
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates BPCL's Rs. 9,800 Crore Project Initiatives in Bihar" Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for a series of transformative projects led by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in Bengusarai, Bihar. These projects, with a cumulative investment of Rs. 9,800 crore, mark a significant step towards enhancing infrastructure and fuel production capabilities.
Among the key initiatives unveiled are the following:
- Kalaburagi POL Depot: A fuel depot in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, spanning 56 acres, aimed at bolstering industrial and economic development in the region.
- City Gas Distribution in Fazilka, Ganganagar, and Hanumangarh: Covering districts in Rajasthan and Punjab, this project aims to enhance fuel distribution efficiency while reducing carbon emissions.
- POL & LOBS Installations with Receipt Pipelines at Rasayani: Infrastructure development in Maharashtra to foster industrial growth and generate employment opportunities.
- Lube Oil Blending and Filling Plant at Rasayani: An automated blending plant in Raigad District, Maharashtra, aimed at improving operational efficiency.
- Augmentation of Cryogenic facilities at Uran LPG Import Terminal: Enhancing cryogenic facilities in Maharashtra to increase import capacity.
Additionally, the Prime Minister dedicated several projects to the nation, including:
- New Kero Hydro Treater (KHT) Unit at Mumbai Refinery: Producing Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) with low sulfur content to reduce carbon footprint.
- Enhancement of Lube Oil Base Stock Production at Mumbai Refinery: Increasing capacity to produce high-quality lubricants.
- Construction of POL Terminal with Railway Siding at Haveli, Pune: Improving fuel supply efficiency in Maharashtra.
- Commissioning of POL Coastal Installation at Krishnapatnam, SPSR Nellore, Andhra Pradesh: Ensuring product security and supply assurance.
These projects are expected to generate approximately 22.5 lakh mandays of employment and contribute to socio-economic growth. They also align with the government's vision of increasing natural gas participation in India's energy basket to 15 percent by 2030. Through state-of-the-art technologies and sustainable practices, BPCL aims to minimize its ecological footprint while addressing the nation's dynamic energy needs.
