upGrad to Invest ₹100 Crore, Establish 100 Offline Connect and Counselling Points
upGrad, a prominent skilling and workforce development platform, has announced plans to establish 100 offline 'Connect and Counselling' touch-points and Learning Centres across India, complementing its online growth strategy.
The company has earmarked an initial investment of ₹100 crore to penetrate further into non-metro areas and smaller towns, aiming to accelerate operations within the next 12 months.
The inauguration of the first two counselling centers in Mumbai and Delhi, along with the first two learning centers in Indore and Pune, marks the initial phase of this expansion. Within the first 30 days, these centers have conducted over 500 career counselling sessions. upGrad aims for the 100 centres to provide career guidance to over half a million individuals, while the learning centres are expected to enroll over 10,000 learners.
Mayank Kumar, co-founder and Managing Director of upGrad, highlighted the company's focus on creating an environment where every learner, whether existing or potential, resonates with the brand's values and mission. He emphasized the importance of upskilling in today's competitive landscape, stating that timely skill enhancement is crucial for India's global competitiveness.
