TS, Chhattisgarh sign PPA for 1,000 MW.
Telangana and Chhattisgarh Governments signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for supply 1,000 MW power for 12 years by the latter to former, here on Tuesday. Executives of Chhattisgarh power utilities also responded positively to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s request to supply another 1,000 MW.
The development would help Telangana State bridge the demand-supply gap to a large extent by September next year, when two major transmission lines being constructed by Power Grid Corporation would be completed.
Official sources stated that the rate of power would be between Rs. 4.90 and Rs. 5 per unit including the wheeling and transmission charges.
