Telangana Government Plans to Develop ITIR along Outer Ring Road.

The state government has changed its plans of setting up of Information Technology and Investment Regions (ITIR) at four locations in the city. Now, the ITIR will be developed all along the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

Proposals to this effect are being sent to the Central government as the ITIR is being developed with the financial assistance of the Central government. When the Centre has sanctioned ITIR, there was a delay on the part of the state government in identifying the land in the four locations meant for the ITIR.

Now, the government is planning to develop ITIR all along the ORR. The government lands would be identified in one kilometre range on both sides of the ORR and they would be marked for industrial purpose so that industrialists who are coming to invest in ITIR region need not waste time for conversion of land for industrial purpose.

'We will identify government lands and convert them as lands for industrial use and hand over it to the industries department,” sources in the municipal administration and urban development department told Express recently.

'The Centre will release Rs. 50 crore for every 100 acre land in the ITIR,” sources added. The ITIR is being promoted with the Central government’s financial assistance and is expected to generate IT exports of Rs. 2.35 lakh crore. The ITIR is projected to provide direct employment to 15 lakh and indirect employment to 53 lakh over next 25 years. The state is expected to get an additional tax revenue of over Rs. 30,000 crore through ITIR. 13 Growth Corridors: Meanwhile, the state government has planned 13th Transit Oriented Growth Corridors around the Outer Ring Road and attracting investments at these places.
