Pipeline work for Edakochi to begin soon.
The first phase of pipeline work to provide drinking water to Edakochi will begin as soon as the sanction for digging of roads is obtained.
A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting held recently by MLAs John Fernandez and M. Swaraj at the chief engineer’s office.
The first phase of the pipeline work will cover the stretch from Aroor Bypass junction to Aroor-Edakochi bridge.
The second phase of the project, from the Aroor-Edakochi bridge to Edakochi, would begin only after retendering as the funds earmarked for the same needed to be revised, it was said at the meeting.
After soil testing and tender process, construction of the water tank and compound wall would begin.
Councillors Prathibha Hari and K.J. Basil, Superintending Engineer Babu Thomas and other officials of the Kerala Water Authority took part in the meeting.
