MSTC set for second phase of coal auctions.

After the e–auction of six coal blocks during February 14-22, the auction platform provider, MSTC, has said it would organise a second set of auctions for the other 15 blocks in the next phase. These blocks are meant for cement and steel makers.

However, unlike the first set, the new set would be e-auctioned in the forward mode. The first set of six blocks was auctioned on the reverse mode.

The auctions would take place on its special coal portal. The Union Ministry of Coal, has selected MSTC as the auctioneer for 204 coal blocks, allocation of which was cancelled by the Supreme Court.
