"KIMS Hospitals Signs ₹700-Crore Medical Technology Deal with Wipro GE Healthcare"

Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wipro GE Healthcare for a medical technology procurement agreement valued at up to ₹700 crore. Announced on October 18, 2024, the three-year agreement will encompass both new equipment and servicing for KIMS’ existing 12 hospitals and four upcoming facilities.

The deal covers a comprehensive range of medical technology, including PET CTs, SPECT CTs, cath labs, MRIs, CT scanners, ultrasounds, and critical care equipment. Under this agreement, Wipro GE Healthcare will act as an end-to-end medical technology partner for KIMS.

Dr. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman & Managing Director of KIMS, highlighted the partnership's significance in supporting the hospital chain's expansion throughout Southern and Western India. Chaitanya Sarawate, Managing Director of Wipro GE Healthcare, noted the alignment of both companies' missions to enhance healthcare accessibility.

KIMS currently operates 15 hospitals across four states—Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Kerala—offering healthcare services in 25 super specialties. The hospital chain specializes in tertiary and quaternary healthcare services, including cardiac sciences, oncology, neurosciences, and organ transplantation.

The agreement will leverage Wipro GE Healthcare’s local manufacturing capabilities and service network to bolster KIMS’ healthcare delivery objectives, ensuring advanced medical technology is accessible to the communities they serve.
