IFFCO Nanoventions Launches State-of-the-Art Innovation Hub in Coimbatore.

IFFCO Nanoventions, the specialized nanotechnology arm of the Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Innovation Hub at its research and manufacturing center in Thondamuthur.

The facility was officially opened by IFFCO Chairman Dileep Sanghani, who emphasized that the hub would serve as a technical nucleus for developing disruptive solutions for sustainable agriculture.

Driving Sustainable Productivity

The new hub is designed to accelerate the research and adoption of advanced nanotechnology in the farming sector. By leveraging high-precision science, IFFCO aims to provide farmers with tools that significantly improve crop yields while reducing the environmental footprint of traditional farming.

Key benefits of the technology developed at the Coimbatore center include:

Enhanced Nutrient Absorption: Nano-particles (20–50 nm in size) penetrate plant cells more efficiently through stomatal pores.

Input Efficiency: A single 500ml bottle of Nano Urea can potentially replace an entire 45kg bag of conventional urea.

Environmental Protection: Targeted delivery reduces the leaching of chemicals into soil and groundwater, combating climate change and pollution.

Expanding the Portfolio: Nano Urea and Nano DAP

The hub's inauguration coincides with the success of IFFCO’s existing nano-fertilizers, such as Nano Urea and Nano DAP. These products have already been adopted by millions of farmers across India, demonstrating that "less is more" in modern agriculture.

During the visit, officials also highlighted the upcoming launch of DharAmrut Gold, a silicon-based natural soil conditioner. Developed at the Coimbatore facility, this new product is designed to improve soil structure, enhance moisture retention, and increase crop resilience against drought and extreme heat.
