"Epic Group of Hong Kong to Establish Maiden Garment Factory in India, Secures Land in Bhubaneswar"

Hong Kong-based apparel industry leader, Epic Group, is gearing up to inaugurate its inaugural garment factory in India, having secured 40 acres of land in Bhubaneswar for this purpose.

The conglomerate has enlisted the expertise of Colliers India, a diversified professional services and investment management company, to spearhead the establishment of the manufacturing unit, valued at approximately ₹220 crore. Situated within the IDCO Industrial Estate in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, the first phase of development is slated for completion by May 2025.

A media statement released on Wednesday announced Colliers India's triumphant clinch of the ₹220 crore Design & Build Turnkey contract from EPIC Designers, the subsidiary responsible for the upcoming manufacturing venture in India.

Hailing this initiative as a potential game-changer for the Indian apparel industry, Epic Group plans to employ over 6,000 individuals to operate the facility, signaling a significant economic boost for the region.

Ranjan Mahtani, Executive Chairman of Epic Group, expressed confidence in the venture, citing India's skilled workforce and textile production expertise as compelling factors for expanding their sustainable fashion operations into the country. Mahtani emphasized the collaboration with Colliers as instrumental in establishing a benchmark facility for socially and environmentally responsible apparel manufacturing.

Managing Director of Project Management at Colliers India, Indranil Basu, highlighted the facility's alignment with global standards and the company's commitment to cutting-edge infrastructure. The first phase of development spanning 338,000 sq. ft. is on track for completion by May 2025, with future expansion prospects extending over 381,236 sq. ft.

Epic Group's subsidiary, Trimetro Garments India, will oversee the management of the facility, further solidifying the conglomerate's commitment to pioneering excellence in the apparel manufacturing sector.
