EEPC inks MoU with German engg body
Kolkata: The Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) for promoting business opportunities between the two countries. While Mr Rakesh Shah, Chairman, EEPC, signed on behalf of the council, Mr Ulrich Ackermann, Head of Foreign Trade, Department of VDMA, signed on behalf of the German trade body.
The two organisations have agreed to establish and develop commercial links between the business communities of both nations, in general, and their respective members in particular, and also within the scope of each organisation's terms of reference.
The EEPC, in a statement released here, has informed that the MoU broadly involved mutual assistance in the organisation of trade and market research missions, conferences, symposia and other types of trade promotion, exchange of information for mutual benefit, arrange visits of officials of both organisations to foster business co-operation and to maintain flow of information about respective economic developments.
The council's awards for the best pavilion at the recently concluded Hannover 2006 trade fair in four different categories were presented to ISRO (in the category for PSUs/government departments), Jharkhand (State governments), TVS Group (for large corporate houses) and Gemsons Precision Engg Pvt Ltd (for SMEs).
