Bangalore airport to be expanded

Banaglare: The reconstituted board of the Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) has proposed to expand the airport with a new terminal.

Under the plan, BIAL board has planned to construct new T-2 terminal building. The first phase of terminal T-2 will handle passenger traffic of 15 million per annum.

The terminal will be expanded in the next phase to for handling 36 million passengers annually. Besides this, the associated airside infrastructure will also be expanded for the new terminal.

Global architectural firm HOK has been appointed for designing the expansion. The proposed expansion will increase the annual capacity of the existing terminal to 15 million passengers annually.
