Aster opens 100-bed hospital at Dubai's Mankhool area.

The Aster Hospital in mankool has opened its doors to the community. The 100-bed low cost hospital will be officially inaugurated at a later stage in the year.

The hospital covers an area of about 190,000 square feet and will provide routine medical, surgical, obstetrics, pediatric, neonatal, dialysis, endoscopy and emergency care services.

Dr. Azad Moopen, chairman and managing director of Aster DM Healthcare, said: 'This is the first of our five Aster DM Hospitals that are in various stages of construction at this point. We have two more Aster hospitals coming up in Qusais and Abu Dhabi over the next two years; and then again under the Medcare brand, we have one general hospital in Sharjah and another boutique woman and child hospital coming up on Shaikh Zayed Road.

The healthcare group currently have about 450 beds under construction in the UAE. The number of units under the group is set to grow to 300 by 2017.
