Andhra Pradesh Government to Establish Logistics Corporation for Unified Cargo Services.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed state officials to establish a new logistics corporation aimed at streamlining cargo movement across the state. The announcement was made during a review meeting on infrastructural facilities in Amaravati on Monday.
The proposed corporation will serve as the nodal agency for all cargo shipments, coordinating transportation through a multi-modal network that includes ports, airports, inland waterways, roads, and railways. This initiative is designed to create a single, unified system for logistics, which is expected to boost efficiency and economic activity.
Chief Minister Naidu also revealed that plans are currently in motion to develop 20 new ports and airports across Andhra Pradesh. He further suggested that satellite townships should be built around these new hubs to foster economic growth. These townships are envisioned as centers of commerce and industry, leveraging the new transportation infrastructure to attract investment and create jobs.
