Zetwerk Announces ₹1,000 Crore Investment in Electronics Manufacturing.
In an ambitious move, the manufacturing unicorn Zetwerk is gearing up to invest a whopping ₹1,000 crores to bolster its presence in the consumer electronics manufacturing sector. The company is set to diversify its offerings, expand its manufacturing operations beyond the northern region, and explore potential collaborations with government entities. This strategic expansion initiative was disclosed by Rahul Sharma, Co-founder of Zetwerk.
Zetwerk is eyeing the electric vehicle (EV) and IT hardware sectors as part of its growth agenda. In the EV domain, the company intends to delve into battery management systems, battery packs, power drainage solutions, and various electronic components associated with batteries.
Rahul Sharma elaborated on the company's plans, stating, "The EV category is still in its nascent stages, but we are placing a significant bet on its future. We are actively mapping out the landscape for the next three years. Additionally, IT hardware is an area of keen interest for us, and we are in discussions with multiple clients to establish a robust supply chain."
Within the current financial year, Zetwerk is gearing up to commence laptop production and is in the process of finalizing the factory setup, system integration, and pilot runs. Sharma expressed, "We are in conversations with numerous international brands that are keen on collaborating. They are seeking a partner with the capacity for rapid scalability and an agile, efficient supply chain, which we are committed to providing."
Zetwerk originally ventured into electronics manufacturing through the hearable and wearable category. Since then, the company has expanded its product portfolio to encompass a wide range of offerings, including True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds, Bluetooth neckbands, speakers, smartwatches, and more. Zetwerk stands out as one of the select Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) capable of delivering its own products to customers. Currently, the company boasts a production capacity of one million devices per month. Furthermore, it has successfully ventured into the television manufacturing sector, catering to approximately six to seven brands.
In its pursuit of growth and innovation, Zetwerk is also exploring partnerships with government bodies, potentially granting access to real estate and leveraging government programs for labor training and hiring. The company envisions expanding its manufacturing footprint beyond the northern region to encompass both southern and western regions. This strategic expansion plan is expected to offer increased flexibility to source components and finished products according to customer preferences.
Zetwerk's ambitious investment and expansion plans highlight its commitment to becoming a key player in the rapidly evolving consumer electronics manufacturing landscape.
