US to invest $1.3 bn on construction projects

Washington: The US has made a long-term commitment to construction in Afghanistan, with the Army planning to start $1.3 billion in additional projects this year.

It is already building $1.1 billion in military bases and other facilities. Other projects include airfields, barracks, training areas and warehouses.
