UHBVN to set up 6 substations in Haryana
New Delhi: The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has decided to set up six new 33 KV unmanned and fully automated substations in villages Soodpur, Adhon, Bhusthala, Belarkhan, Kharal and Bhadhana in Jind and Kurukshetra district.
This apart, eight conventional 33 KV substations would be set up in Rajpur, Rindle, Budhakhera, Harnola, Landerkeema, Mandi, Chandana and Kutubpur villages in Sonepat, Karnal, Panipat and Kaithal districts for which competitive bids have been invited.
Giving details of the project, a spokesperson here said that about 40-km-long 33 KV lines and 60-km-long 11 KV link lines would be erected for setting up of six unmanned substations. Apart from that, about 61-km-long 33 KV lines and 80-km-long 11 KV link lines for conventional substations would have be erected as well.
On an average, the cost of constructing a substation with transformer lines and building is about Rs 2.5 crore. Thus, about Rs 35 crore would be spent on setting up these substations and their operation and maintenance. The responsibility of operation and maintenance of a substation for two years after its commissioning would be assigned to the successful bidder.
The spokesperson said that UHBVN has already commissioned an unmanned substation at Bal Bhawan in Rohtak. The setting up of unmanned substation requires 700 to 800 square yards of land whereas the conventional 33 KV substation is constructed in about one acre of land.
The spokesperson further stated that there will be minimum one 11 KV feeder in each substation for exclusively feeding the tubewell consumers. About 30,000 consumers of the areas would be directly benefited by these substations by way of better voltage and uninterrupted power supply.
Simultaneously, 20,000 consumers of the surrounding areas will also be benefited due to reduction of load on the existing substations, he added.
