Tata Advanced Systems and Safran Establish Rotating Parts Manufacturing Facility for LEAP Engine.

Tata Advanced Systems, in collaboration with Safran Aircraft Engines, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility at the Tata Centre of Excellence for Aero Engines in Adibatla, Hyderabad. The facility will produce complex rotating parts for the CFM LEAP engine, incorporating advanced machining and specialized processes within a single integrated setup.

The partnership was first announced in January 2024, following the signing of a long-term agreement between the two companies for the production of LEAP engine components. The LEAP engine, developed by CFM International-a 50-50 joint venture between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines—powers most new-generation narrowbody aircraft.

Known for its high efficiency, the LEAP engine offers about 15 percent better fuel economy, reduced noise levels, and enhanced operational reliability compared to previous-generation engines.
