Suzlon Secures 838 MW Order from Tata Power Renewable.
Suzlon Group, a leading provider of wind energy solutions in India, has announced the acquisition of its largest order for the fiscal year 2026, securing an 838 MW contract with Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), one of the nation’s foremost renewable energy companies. This significant order represents Suzlon's second-largest deal to date, following its 1,544 MW contract with NTPC Green Energy, and underscores the increasing importance of Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) projects in India's energy transition.
As India strives to achieve its objective of delivering round-the-clock, grid-stable clean power, FDRE systems—especially those dominated by wind energy—are proving to be pivotal in balancing renewable generation with reliability.
The project entails the installation of 266 units of Suzlon’s advanced S144 wind turbines, each boasting a rated capacity of 3.15 MW. The turbines will be deployed across three states, generating 302 MW in Karnataka, 271 MW in Maharashtra, and 265 MW in Tamil Nadu. This initiative is part of the FDRE bids awarded to SJVN and NTPC, further emphasizing the sector's shift towards integrated and dispatchable renewable power solutions.
