SunCoke Energy expects domestic coke production of 944000 tonnes in Q1 2014.
SunCoke Energy Inc announced Q1 2014 domestic coke production is expected to be 944,000 tonnes down an estimated 108,000 tonnes versus the same prior year period. This YoY decline reflects approximately 64,000 tonnes of lower production at our Indiana Harbor facility due to the combined impact of severe winter weather and the significant refurbishment effort underway at this plant.
The extreme winter weather, which impacted charge weights and yield, drove nearly 40 thousand tons of lower production at our Haverhill and Granite City operations collectively. Domestic capacity utilization in Q1 2014 is estimated to be 90 percent, as compared to 101% in the same prior year period.
