SLPA plans port development projects
Colombo: Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) accept challenges in the regional maritime sector by, launching a number of greater port developmental projects. Steps have been taken to implement all these developmental projects, together with the Trade Unions at SLPA, under supervision and guidance of Port and Aviation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa.
A series of discussions have also been arranged at frequent intervals under the new Programmes launched for the expedited development of the port sector in the country.
The second monthly meeting took place on March 26 at the Port and Aviation Ministry under Minister Rajapaksa's initiative. Expressing views at the occasion the Minister said these types of collective efforts ease the journey towards the developmental targets of institutional objectives and are exemplary of other institutions as well.
Vice Chairman of SLPA Priyath Bandu Wickrama, Director Prasanna Kalutharage and the Additional Secretary K.V.P. Ranjith De Silva also participated.
