SLPA launches port developmental projects
Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) is taking steps to accept challenges in the regional maritime sector, launching a number of greater port developmental projects.
Steps have been taken to implement all these projects, together with the Trade Unions at SLPA, under keen supervision and guidance of Minister of Ports & Aviation Chamal Rajapaksa.
Under the new programmes launched for the expedited development of the port sector in the country, a series of discussions have also been arranged at frequent intervals.
The second monthly meeting of these discussions, during the first six months of the year, took place recently at the Ministry of Ports & Aviation, under the initiative of Minister of Ports & Aviation Chamal Rajapaksa.
Expressing views at the occasion he said that these type of collective efforts ease the journey towards the targets and objectives and are exemplary to the other institutions as well.
Vice Chairman of SLPA Priyath Bandu Wickrama, Director Prasanna Kalutharage and the Additional Secretary K.V.P. Ranjith De Silva also participated at the discussions.
