SAEL Plans 5 GW Integrated Solar Manufacturing Facility in UP for ₹8,200 Cr.
SAEL Industries announced recently a massive investment of approximately ₹8,200 crore to establish an integrated solar manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The ambitious project, to be developed through its subsidiary SAEL Solar P6, aims to significantly boost India's domestic solar production capabilities.
The state-of-the-art facility will be situated within the jurisdiction of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath underscored the state's support for the initiative by presenting the letter of comfort to Sukhbir Singh Awla, Co-Founder and Director of SAEL Industries.
Construction on the new plant is slated to begin this year, 2025. Once operational, the Greater Noida complex will feature a 5 gigawatt (GW) solar cell manufacturing unit and an equally robust 5 GW solar module manufacturing line, making it a key player in India's growing renewable energy sector. This move by SAEL is expected to create numerous jobs and contribute significantly to the "Make in India" initiative in the green energy space.
